The historic fortified upper town, with cobblestone streets, ancient walls, views over the sea and harbour. Key places inside: the Cathedral (Catedral de Santa María), viewpoints, small boutiques, cafés and tapas bars.
This is a more hidden / adventurous place with weird rock formations, natural pools, artsy carvings. Not super easy to get to, but worth it for the views, the water and the dramatic scenery.
Ses Salines: salt flats, protected park, good beaches, more relaxed environment. Markets: Las Dalias (Sant Carles), or other local hippy/flea markets for crafts, food, music.
Es Vedrà is the iconic rocky islet off the coast, beautiful at sunset; Cala d’Hort gives you good views toward it.

The beaches, nature, animals, ceviche tutorial, group dynamics were great
Tubing down the river after visiting the indigenous village museum was great. Beach in Tayrona was also lovely
I loved walking through the streets of Cartegena our first night before and after making ceviche and I loved seeing the hummingbirds in the jungle in Tayrona Park! And at every single step our wonderful guides were telling us about the diversity and energy of Colombia!
There are so many – I loved all of the surprises, the beaches, the hike, riding horseback – all of it I’m so happy and plan on doing another flashback next year!!
I loved Tayrona national park especially the free day where majority of the group got together and head out. It was also nice getting local knowledge and experiences, salsa dancing in Cartagena was a fun time.
